Window-insulating foil 5 m x 1,5 m

This insulating window foil consists of a thin, insulating layer and works in a similar way as double glazing. This insulating window foil restores 50% of the heat loss and reduces the condensation which often occurs on single glazing. It is a simple, quick and inexpensive solution to keep the cold out and the heat in. 

Did you think the film was only useful in the cold winter months? Not at all, window foil can benefit you in the summer months as well! The heat from outside comes in less quickly and if you use air conditioning, the cold air stays better inside the house. It is also a good solution, for example, if you are a tenant and cannot replace the window glass, but you can save on your energy bill this way! 

Insulating window foil can be applied to all types of windows, but is primarily applied to older single pane windows as these windows do not provide sufficient insulation. The application of window foil to older double glazed units can also upgrade them to high performance glass. 

This window foil is a heat-shrinkable synthetic foil, which is applied to the window by "tightening" it with the heat of a hair dryer. By heating it, the film 'shrinks' and fits seamlessly onto your window. A double-sided transparent tape is included and you stick it on the window frame to secure the foil. The complete procedure for installing the insulating window film is explained below. 

Insulating window foil installation procedure: 

1. Clean your window and window frame thoroughly and allow to dry. 
2. Stick the double-sided tape onto the inside of the window frame and press firmly. Then cut the window foil to the size of the window with an overlap of 5 to 8 cm on each side.
3. First, peel off the protective film from the top tape and press the window film onto the tape as tightly as possible. 
4. Now wait 24 hours.
5. Use a hair dryer to lightly heat the foil on the tape and press the foil firmly onto the tape again. Then set the hairdryer to the medium or highest setting and heat the entire surface evenly, until the film is stretched taut. 

Attention! Always keep a distance of +/- 10 cm from the window with your hairdryer!
